Workshop Solutions, part of the Junair group of companies, has completed a major workshop development at a prestigious Audi site, at Trentham Lakes, Stoke-on-Trent. The brand new state-of-the-art building opposite Stoke City FC’s Britannia Stadium is the fourth largest of its kind in the UK and represents a £6 million investment for the Audi group.
The site boasts a 20-car showroom including over 100 used cars and is fully supported by its superior 1,000 sq metre aftercare workshop fully designed, provided and installed by Workshop Solutions.
Tasked with the project management and implementation of the workshop equipment, the team at Workshop Solutions led by Director, Mike Bates, was ready for the challenge. “This site is one of the most sophisticated showroom and workshop sites in the country,” explained Mike, “and quite rightly, Audi wanted to make sure its workshop reflected the impeccable standards of the entire site, ensuring that the best equipment was used to maximise every square metre of space – a task to which the Workshop Solutions team could bring its expertise.”
The Stoke Audi workshop refit represented around £155,000 in investment and Ben Gilbert, Aftersales Manager maintains that the workshop and aftercare service that Audi provides its customers is paramount to the site’s success. “Workshop Solutions worked seamlessly with our team here and with our on-site builders to create a streamlined, clean and professional workshop with equipment that could meet Audi’s high demands as well as ensure workflow efficiency.”
Workshop Solutions, the UK’s sole distributor for AUTOP inground and surface mounted lifts, installed fourteen inground repair lifts, designed so that they could be adjustable for each Audi model to meet the different chassis regulations. Ben Gilbert continued: “Not only are the AUTOP inground repair lifts adjustable for each Audi vehicle, they optimise floor space, which helps to create a functional, yet aesthetically pleasing workshop, in keeping with our requirements.”
Mike Bates added: “The AUTOP lifts are also ideal for service work, body repair, painting and washing applications and this excellent versatility, together with their long working life and minimal maintenance makes AUTOP the first choice for professional workshops.”
The workshop was also installed with a wheel alignment lift and the very first AUTOP Inground Automated Test Lane lift incorporating Play Detector to allow automated steering and suspension testing.
Workshop Solutions installed Dura cabinets and lubrication equipment as well as an exhaust extraction system. Mike Bates commented: “At Stoke Audi’s new-build site, the Workshop Solutions team provided specially selected equipment from some of the world’s leading manufacturers, designed to deliver maximum productivity and profit - although we offer much more than top quality, well proven products – our team of professionals and customer service is exemplerary.”
“As always, installation is carried out by our specialised team - they have extensive experience in all aspects of building and installation and our aftercare service ensures that customers receive full maintenance, servicing and calibration, load testing, inspection documentation and a reliable supply of parts available for next day delivery.”
Ben Gilbert concluded: “Workshop Solutions provided us with support and expertise right from the beginning of the project to completion – we were impressed with their hands-on approach and their team of professionals.”
